Thanks to the molybdenum in its composition, 316L is more resistant to pitting corrosion than 304 in chloride environments (seawater, some chemicals). "L" stands for low carbon and reduces the risk of corrosion in the weld zone. For general applications, 304 / 304L is an economical solution.

SS316 double ferrule instrumentation fittings are available in the catalog for tube outside diameters of 1/4", 3/8", 1/2", 3/4" and 1", in union, elbow, tee, connector, bulkhead and reducing types, with NPT and BSPP thread options.
